Thanks for a great virtual meeting!
Thank you to all who attended the 2020 WAEA Virtual Meeting and continue to make this association a relevant source of information and research. I would also like to congratulate all of the award recipients this year and to Ashok Mishra and Randy Fortenbery (our newest WAEA Fellows).

Given the circumstances this year, the opportunity to hold a virtual meeting was only made possible thanks to the efforts of many. I would especially like to thank Chris Bastian for his leadership through transitioning to a new management company (IMI) and leading the charge to host a virtual meeting. As I step in as president, I am so grateful for all of Chris’s work to put the WAEA in an improved position. I would also like to recognize the efforts by Lynn Hamilton, Matt McFadden, Kelley Mazur, and the executive board for making sure we had a smooth conference.
The WAEA is run by volunteer members and I would encourage anyone who is interested to get involved. If you’re unsure about how best to get involved, please send me an email (eric.belasco@montana.edu). We are in the process of planning for our in-person joint conference with the Canadian Agricultural Economics Association in Whistler, British Columbia July 18-21, 2021. Stay tuned for more information on that meeting and I hope to see you there.
