2023 Joint CAES/WAEA Meeting
July 17 – 20, 2023 Hilton Whistler Resort Whistler, BC, Canada
The meeting starts in the afternoon of Sunday, June 23 with the executive meetings and reception. Conference sessions will run for 1.5 days (Monday, June 24 and the morning of Tuesday, June 25). The post-conference extension tour will be the afternoon of Tuesday, June 25.
The WAEA annual meeting will be held at the San Francisco Marriott Union Square, San Francisco, California.
Registration for the Conference:
Online registration for the 2024 WAEA Conference is now open. To get early-bird rates, please register by May 15, 2024. Online registration will be closing on June 10, 2024. The table below summarizes fee details and the deadline for registration:
The registration fees will include reception, two breakfasts and two lunches. The registration fees are higher this year due to a) inflation, and b) the high cost of operations in San Francisco.
Guest tickets for the meeting cover the welcome reception and all concurrent sessions. Guest banquet tickets may be purchased during registration for $100 and on-site, subject to availability.

Accommodations:
We have a special block rate for hotel rooms for the 2024 Annual Meeting at the Marriott San Francisco Union Square. Hotel rooms (either King or Two Doubles) are available at $249 + taxes per night. A few things to note about the rooms are:
- Reservation rates online say that they will include a $30/night Destination Fee that is typically charged in San Francisco for a total rate of $279. WAEA rooms will NOT be charged the destination fee at check in so the actual rate will be $249.
- Free Wi-Fi in hotel rooms is only available for Marriott Bonvoy members so it is suggested to join Marriott Bonvoy before booking a hotel room.
- Parking at the hotel is about $70/day. However, there are a lot of things within walking distance so please plan accordingly.
